Tobirus is a rock band originally from central Newfoundland, formed in 2023. Beginning as a bedroom rock project, the band has grown into a alternative/punk rock group with folk rock influences and glam rock tendencies. The sound of Tobirus never sits still for too long, and the band is consistently committed to energetic and engaging live performances. The band currently consists of Singer/Guitarist/Pianist Samuel Stairs, Drummer Jared Lake and Bassist Conner Pike. They are currently based out of St. Johns in Newfoundland, and were nominated for rock group of the year at the 2026 Music NL awards.

Tobirus is excited to announce the release of their single, RALPH MACHIO. Written by frontman Samuel Stairs, the track marks the next chapter for the band following their debut album Be Large (2024) and signing with The Citadel House in 2025.

Samuel Stairs leads the track with vocals and guitar, supported by his bandmates’ dynamic performances. The result is a song that reflects Tobirus’s growth as a band while staying true to their roots in folk-inspired melodies and their love for classic and alternative rock.

Tobirus continues to build momentum in the Newfoundland and Labrador music scene, performing live shows consistently since forming in 2023. RALPH MACHIO is available on all streaming platforms, alongside the associated album House Husboy.
