Tobirus is a rock band from central Newfoundland, formed in 2023. The band fuses its folk roots with alternative/punk rock influences to bring a classically modern sound to Canadian rock. The band currently consists of Singer/Guitarist/Pianist Samuel Stairs, Drummer Jared Lake and Bassist Conner Pike. They are currently based out of St. Johns, Newfoundland.

New Release

Tobirus, the three-piece rock band from Lewisporte, Newfoundland and Labrador, is excited to announce the release of their latest single, RALPH MACHIO. Written by frontman Samuel Stairs, the track marks the next chapter for the band following their debut album Be Large (2024) and signing with The Citadel House in 2025.

 

Samuel Stairs leads the track with vocals and guitar, supported by his bandmates’ dynamic performances. The result is a song that reflects Tobirus’s growth as a band while staying true to their roots in folk-inspired melodies and their love for classic and alternative rock.

Tobirus continues to build momentum in the Newfoundland and Labrador music scene, performing live shows consistently since forming in 2023. Their second album, House Husboy, is set to release in April 2026, promising more original music that expands on the sounds and themes explored in RALPH MACHIO.
